Introducing Knowledge Base
Your knowledge. Instant answers. The fastest RAG on the market.

Tavus Conversational Video Interface (CVI) can now pull from your Knowledge Base, enabling document referencing across any conversation. With our industry-leading RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), CVI delivers accurate, up-to-date answers in just 30ms, up to 15x faster than other solutions, keeping conversations instant, natural, and friction-free.
Upload PDFs, CSVs, PPTXs, TXTs, PNGs, JPGs, URLs, and other files, all with no custom coding or retraining required.
Once uploaded, CVI ingests the content, reformats it as a machine-readable document, and automatically pulls the most relevant information into conversations.
With Knowledge Base, CVI can:
- Reference FAQs, product specs, onboarding guides, and more
- Answer with facts, not guesses
- Deliver use-case-specific responses instantly
- Assign documents via the UI or pass document IDs through the API, and your Replica will retrieve the right info at the right time.

Knowledge Base is where users upload documents to enhance their Replica’s capabilities using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation). By retrieving information directly from these documents, Replicas can deliver more accurate, relevant, and grounded responses.
Using RAG, the Knowledge Base system continuously:
- Analyzes the conversation context
- Retrieves relevant information from your document base
- Augments the AI’s responses with this contextual knowledge from your documents
You can continue using your systems or explore integrations with the Replica’s native retrieval capabilities for added coherence and accuracy.
Maximum time between upload and usability is 5 minutes.
